You have already heard of positivity and positive thinking. But many of you don’t know how it actually works or whether it really works or not. I would say Yes it works but you have to understand that it is not a magic trick, it is like a healthy habit which is necessary for your overall mindset. Your mindset is the key here.
Have you ever noticed how exhausted you feel after a day long of your desk work or any time you are under stress, your immediately want to take some rest. That is because our brain uses more energy than our overall body, so even if you don’t move a lot throughout the day but do lot of mental work, you get exhausted. So think about how having not so pleasing thoughts could affect your brain. And if your thoughts are mostly negative and full of anger and regrets, your overall mindset becomes more negative. Like a kitchen rack full of unhealthy snacks and junk food, which is not going to benefit your health at all but ruin it more. In the same way, your thoughts are food for your mind. More healthy your thoughts are, more healthy your mindset becomes.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT (AND THINK)
Like I mentioned earlier, your thoughts are like food for your mind. Think about a mobile device as your brain, and the programs or applications are like your thoughts. If you keep downloading corrupted or malicious applications in your device, your device will not function properly and it will eventually become non-functioning. Likewise, our thoughts shape our mindset. If you always have negative thoughts and emotions, it could cause your mind to become sluggish, chaotic, and susceptible to mental health issues. However, when you begin to build a positive mindset full of hope, confidence, and gratitude, you will begin to notice an improvement in your overall mental health and well being.
A positive mindset can improve everything from self-worth to memory, cognitive function, and even the ability to communicate with others.
BUT HOW TO THINK POSITIVE
I used to ask myself this question every time I thought that I should think positive. How can I be positive all the time when my life is not so positive. Actually, this is what we think. If our life is not good, our thoughts are more likely to be negative. Things don’t turn out in our favor all the time and that’s life. But It doesn’t mean, it will never be good.
I have learned one rule of life, it is never same. Things move with time. I am not saying if things are good, it will be bad later but it changes and more likely towards betterment. So don’t keep the same old mindset that your life will always be boring and you will never be successful because you were never before. Remember, earth is not still, wind cannot be stopped, and oceans are never same. So our lives are never same. Your life is changing, whether you notice it or not but everyday something is happening. And the more you start noticing small things and be grateful about them, you will start seeing more changes in your life. The more you are grateful about small things, more your thoughts will become positive. It is not some spiritual lecture but try it yourself and you will see that positivity starts with being thankful because then only we actually see positive parts of our lives.
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE
Positive people not only help themselves to be successful in their lives, they also inspire others to be like them. So, listening to successful, positive minded and helping people will help you change your mindset about life and success. You might have read a bunch of success stories, many successful people start from nothing but big dreams and a lot of hopes. Their key weapon to their success was their positive mindset to start. And their positive mindset helped them keep working hard for their dreams. They trusted not only others as well as themselves that they can achieve whatever they want.
Most important thing is, keep positive thinking and your hard work parallel. If I tell you to think positive only and not doing anything would be a wrong message. But hard work with positive mindset is more likely to give you fruitful results compare to working on something but not believing that it will actually be fruitful.
Positive mindset is not only good for mental health but also for your physical well being. A person with positive mindset is more likely to recover from an illness faster than a person with negative mindset. Negative mindset makes your body less productive and fatigued than the average person. However, a positive mindset tend to give you more energy and stamina, enabling you to be active longer and with greater intensity. All in all, the more positive the mind, the healthier the body will be.
PRACTICE SELF-LOVE
Knowing your own worth is much more important than be able to love others. You must have heard of self-love. But this is not enough if you don’t make yourself worth of what you desire. Loving yourself is important to except your true self then realizing where you can improve yourself so you are worth everything you want in your life. For example, if you want a career but you are not qualified for it or you don’t have enough skills and knowledge, you cannot beat yourself up for that. First you need to realize that it is not your fault if you don’t know something since the beginning, nobody is born with all the knowledge. They all start somewhere. Be kind to yourself and except that it is okay to not know something and than work on it to increase your knowledge and better your skills so that you will be eligible for your desired career in your life.
Same thing goes for your love life and a type of partner you desire in your life. You cannot love someone else until you love yourself. You will never find yourself, worth something good if you don’t except yourself for who you are. How can you expect another person to like your true self if you only don’t love yourself. Love yourself for who you are, except where you are lacking and if you need to improve in any area. Be open to changes if required and work on it.
Once you start loving yourself, you will eventually know you worth everything you desire in your life and then you will have a positive mindset that you can achieve your goals because you are worth it. Not so long ago I had dreams but I always thought that they are impossible for a person like me because I am good enough. I WAS NOT good enough but I was not bad at all and It was not Impossible for me to improve my skills. But due to my negative mindset about myself, it was impossible for me to achieve my goals. Good part was I knew my mindset was not right about myself and I need to change it. I started thinking that I can do it even though it is not easy. It was so difficult to think like that. Now and then I used to go back to my old mindset and thought of giving up. But somehow my passion for my dreams didn’t let me give up so I had to keep that positive light inside me. Now I have finally got that positive mindset that no matter what, I am worth everything I want in my life and I am always working on myself to improve. And with every positive move, I get closer to my goals. So you can too.

Being positive takes little bit practice just like any other mind activity. Like any other skills, thinking positive always makes your brain use to of having same type of thought patterns. And therefore, thinking positive even in bad situations. But you should know the difference between what is wrong or right. Sometimes, people something in their life which is not good for others. So don’t think, just because you think you worth something even though it is wrong, it is right. It is toxic positivity. People need to be careful of these type of thoughts. But overall, I know people usually don’t want something which is bad for others.
