I always loved to draw. I don’t remember since when I started to draw female figures and dress them in gowns. Yes, Gowns were and are still my favourite garments I loved to dress up my female figures with. I am not a fashion designer. But I love fashion from an artist’s perspective. Designing cloths and drawing them is also an art.
You can surely learn to draw fashion sketch if you love to draw. As for me, I have an spiritual connection when I draw female figures with gowns. But now I try to draw different types of clothes as well. If you ask me what is my inspiration to draw fashion sketch, I will say it is my attraction towards it. But this is not an inspiration actually, right?
Every one gets inspired by different things. Getting inspirations motivates new ideas in you. So it is really helpful if you get inspired by something, but never forget to keep your individual uniqueness to your creations because that’s what makes your drawings, your.
GO BACK TO YEARS BACK
Old times were good right. When we were kids (some of you might still be kids or a teenager lol), everything was very different from now because things are changing very quickly. Even the fashion that times was very different and beautiful in its own way. So why not take some of it and try to create something new.
When I look at old pictures of my childhood or even older, my mother’s and father’s older pictures, I see different colors palettes which I get inspired from. Different and crazy patterns which I don’t see now but it will still look cool now. So I try to draw people from those old pictures.
PEOPLE IN LOCAL STREETS
Some people are naturally fashionable. They don’t need to follow big fashion influencers to create thier styles. And many of those people are found on street passing by. I can still draw non-fashionable people just for learning sake and to get an idea of proportions and sizes. But we are talking about getting inspired. And we get inspired by things which surprises us in a good way. So don’t overlook those fashionable and stylish people on the streets. Observe them before they pass by you and you can’t see them.
USE YOUR OWN IMAGINATION
Your imagination can be really useful and can give so many unique ideas for your next drawings. I usually use my imagination because I don’t really go out as often as other people to see outsite people. Instead, when I read any story in a book or I imagine stories too lol, I can imagine how the characters in that story would look like and dress like.
There are many times I get triggered by my own emotions and when I analyse them, I often get a strong woman feeling and that gives me inspiration to draw strong woman.
