Heritage Auctions is putting up Anime collection for sale in June. The title of the Auction is “The Art of Anime and Everything Cool“. It will feature total of 928 objects from the Glad Anime Museum Collection, which was founded by the West Coast Collector and film producer Mike Glad.
Auction Details and The Anime Collection
Heritage Auctions broke the record for animation art at auction in last December when Charles Schultz Peanuts Character sheet sold for $240,000. The category of anime collections is growing increasingly popular among millennial collectors.
The collection includes materials deriving from films My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service. Production cels from Akira Kaneda, model sheets, toys from a variety of cult anime series such as Dragon Ballz, Pokémon and Sailor Moon, and Master and Key Master setups.
Many of the works appeared in the travelling exhibition ‘Ga-Netchu! The Manga Anime Syndrome.’ The sale is on 25th of June 2021 in Heritage Auctions, Dallas. However the online biddings are currently going on. The lots are estimations ranges from $500 to $15,000. Bidding each work begins at $1. A cel depicting an iconic scene from My Neighbor Totoro estimated at $5000 – $7500. Other Materials headed to Heritage come from films like Ghost in the Shell, Akira and Perfect Blue.

How To Bid
In order to make a bid over the internet in any Heritage auction, follow these steps:
- Log onto Heritage Auctions.
- Search or browse for the lot that you’re interested in. You can do this from the HA.com home page, from the Auctions home page, or from the home page for this auction you wish to participate in.
- Click on the link or the photo icon for the lot that you want to bid on, or you can bid straight from the Search Results page.
- On this page, you will see a box, which allows you to place a bid. You will need to enter your secret maximum bid. If you are not logged in, you will then be prompted to enter your user name, and your password. The secret maximum bid is the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item you’re interested in. However, your current bid at any time will be the lesser of your maximum bid or one bid increment above what any other bidder has bid on your item. Click on the button marked “Place Bid” again to continue.
