The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has announced the second digital India Couture Week 2021 will be starting on August 23 till 29, this year. Sponsored by Hindustan Times, the digital event will be streamed on FDCI’s digital platforms – Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and FDCI website, with a preset show schedule.

The show day 1 will be opened by famous fashion designer Manish Malhotra and the grand finale designer is Rahul Mishra who will be feature on the French Couture Calendar. The 14th edition of the event will feature various couturiers as many as 19 including names like Anamika Leena, Anju Modi, Falguni Shane Peacock, Amit Agarwal, Amit GT, Dolly J, Ashima Leena, Kunal Rawal, Gaurav Gupta, Manish Malhotra, Rahul Mishra, Pankaj & Nidhi, Reynu Taandan, Shantanu & Nikhil, Siddhartha Tytler and more. The top couturiers of the country will be presenting their fashion films, displaying their mastery over compelling storytelling, at a time when it has become the most influential means of communication.
The first digital edition of the event was held in September 2020 due to pandemic.
“We are delighted to announce the dates for India Couture Week 2021, and even though there is no doubt, the way we consume fashion has changed, but what hasn’t is the desire for special occasion ensembles. To encapsulate this regal experience, our designers have adapted to the digital format, which is both engaging and relevant. We will have the best of the best couturiers, narrating tales, effortlessly bridging the gap between the two worlds —– reel and real,” said FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi.
