Roger Federer is considered to be one of the greatest tennis players of all time with 20 Grand Slam titles and 103 career ATP titles. In 2003, Roger Federer founded Roger Federer Foundation, that dedicatedly works for providing education programs for children living in poverty in Africa and Switzerland. This time, Roger Federer has offered a part of his tennis memorabilia collection for auction at Christie’s in order to raise the funds for quality education to vulnerable children in Southern Africa and Switzerland. Christie’s has titled the auction is “The Roger Federer Collection: Sold to Benefit The RF Foundation“.
More Details of The Auction
The auction will be held in two parts. First sale will have 20 lots which are connected to one of Federer’s Score of Grand Slam triumphs. Second sale will have more 300 lots which consist of matches played across the globe from 2000 till date. While most of the collection is signed.
I started to keep these items from the early days, with hopes of, one day, doing something that can help make a difference in the world.
Every item reminds me of great moments of my career so far… I feel now is the right time to hold an auction at Christie’s, with all proceeds benefiting the Roger Federer Foundation. – Roger Federer
The Auction will be live and online. Live auction in Kind Street, London on 23th June while Online auction runs from 23th June to 14th July.
